A Special Request for Our Alumni
Calling all DBU@B alumni—we need your voice!
We are supporting our friend Coline Madelaine, a French architect and researcher who is conducting Ph.D. research on the global impact of hands-on architectural education. Her work focuses specifically on the history and influence of our program!
To make her research as meaningful as possible, she needs to hear directly from you. Your experience and feedback are invaluable. By participating, you’ll be helping to advance the recognition and development of the practical, design-build education we all believe in.
Please take a few moments to help by completing her survey. Here is a message directly from Coline:
“Dear DesignBuildBLUFF alumni or current student,
My name is Coline Madelaine, a French architect currently pursuing a PhD on design-build studios. The subject of my PhD is the following: “Design-Build education: birth, developments and perspectives. From its American roots to the French beginnings.”
My research focuses on the case of DesignBuildBLUFF, which I had the opportunity to visit in 2022. I visited the Bluff campus and the University of Utah, and met with Hiroko, Atsushi, Hank Louis, the founder of the program, as well as some of the students who were at the university at the time. Since I wasn’t able to see you in action at Bluff or discuss your experience with you in depth, I was wondering if you could take a moment to complete this questionnaire. Sharing your experience would be incredibly valuable for my research work. Thank you very much in advance!”
