A Toast! Our Mid-Project Celebration and the Circle of Support

We’ve officially reached the halfway point of this year’s project! The roofs are on both structures, and we recently held a “Topping Off Celebration” with the home-recipient families. It was a truly moving moment, sharing the joy of this milestone together under a brand-new roof.

So much has happened in the last six months. In this update, we want to introduce the incredible donors and volunteers who have supported our journey so far.

We’ll also share details on a new initiative—a “Project Experience Class” held here in Bluff during fall break—and describe the amazing Monument Valley tour our sketch class took, thanks to the wonderful cooperation of Monument Safari.

The Warm Support That Builds This Place

This project simply wouldn’t be possible without the power of community.

First, a heartfelt thank you to Big-D for donating the structural lumber that forms the “bones” of these homes.

And to Mountain Fiber Insulation for donating the cellulose insulation that will keep them warm.

Hand-in-Hand: Our Powerful Team

So much energy has converged here in Bluff.

  • The team from Telluride Mountain School!
  • The undergraduate students who joined the Bluff Program Experience Class during fall break!
  • Carpenters Alex & Louise, who returned to help again this year.
  • Our strong helpers who come to Bluff every year: the BYU engineering team and our neighbor, Eathan!
  • Dawn from Bluff EMS, who gave a Safety and CPR lecture.
  • Leigh, the plumber.
  • Professor Milad’s class from the U of U, MDD.
  • John from the Utah Navajo Trust, who always provides guidance.

And to the friends and families of our current students, thank you for coming all the way out to support us.

Thank you all so, so much.

We are deeply grateful to share the joy of working together with our hands. The project is far from over, so please come and visit us in Bluff. We appreciate your continued support!
